Our dog, Scout, struggle with reactivity, recall and resource guarding. From the moment I... read more met Chloe, I knew Beau would be in loving and capable hands! She was calm, personable, friendly and I knew just from the training environment that she took her work seriously. Her backyard has been converted to a beautiful dog friendly training ground! Her garage even has an AC unit that keeps the furbabies comfortable.

Why did I bring my dog to RDT?
Before training, my mischievous Beau had developed quite the list of unwanted behaviors: constant barking, high pitch screaming when he is crated, jumping, mouthing, demand barking especially before meal times, horrible pulling that it was impossible to even walk him, counter-surfing, jumping on furniture, etc! We were at our wits end! The only thing I was able to do on my own was potty training, for the most part.

But the truth is... none of it was Beau's fault. It was mine. I had unknowingly set him up to become a tiny, fuzzy tornado in our home. Instead of a cuddly, lovable puppy, I had a land shark with a screeching bark. I had to do something since he would be 65 lbs in no time!

And then we found RDT! Hallelujah!!!
I chose the 6 week faster-paced course cause I figured it would be good timing to have some training in before out-of-town family visited. So once a week, I would drop Beau off at 9am and he would stay with her and her amazing assistant, Andrea, to train Beau. There was a dog or two present that contributed to the training (and socialization)- which was a bonus! Then at 5pm, I'd return to get a full update on Beau's progress and receive hands-on training so I could reinforce everything at home during the week.

Chloe is incredibly patient and intentional. She made sure I not only understood what Beau was learning but also what I needed to do to support him. I loved how she offered human analogies that helped me better connect with Beau's learning process. So many a-ha moments!

I appreciate the videos, all of the handouts, and the check-in's along with being able to reach out to Chloe when I had concerns. She was with me EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!! I never felt I was in this alone and if I forget something she told me, she would patiently remind me and continue to feed me even more information! (Girl knows her stuff!)

I'll admit: I was hesitant about training tools like the e-collar and prong collar. I thought they were harsh - but under Chloe's guidance, I learned how to use them properly, paired with the right commands and markers. And it really made a difference! Beau responded so well, and now he actually knows what's expected of him. That clarity has brought peace to both of us. Happy dog = happy life!

I also love that Chloe offers boarding with refresher training. If we ever need to leave Beau, there's no one else I'd trust more than Chloe and Andrea. I know he'll be cared for and loved like family.

I recognize that offering this kind of 24/7 support - essentially a "board & care" lifestyle - is a huge sacrifice. Chloe (and her husband!) make it possible, and I'm so grateful. Tell your husband THANK YOU for putting up with all of us dog parents I hope you will find a break for yourselves to go kayaking someday soon!!!

This sounds like a goodbye message but I'm grateful that this is just moving onto a new chapter in our training journey! We're excited to be able to receive lifetime access to support, along with invitations to future group outings! (Beau just attended his first one at a park and it was exciting to see how well behaved all the dogs - and their owners - were )

  We had an amazing experience with Chloe and the puppy program. We had a 7 month old puppy that was un-trained, chasing the cats around the house, pulling like... read more crazy on walks and overall not listening to us. Chloe was incredible and listened to all the issues we were having and targeting them so we could have a well behaved dog that we could take to parks and breweries and anywhere we all wanted to go as a family. She tailored the training to the specific needs of us and our dog. After the program was over we now have a very well trained dog who is a joy to take anywhere and go on walks with.

When you start training and after the program is done you are able to go on her once a month pack walks or group training sessions for free for life, which has been amazing to do and is always a great reminder. They also serve as a great way to socialize with other dogs.

Overall we are extremely happy with all the work she did and cannot recommend her enough to anyone who wants a well trained dog.

  Nothing but gratitude for Rooted Dog Training. Our dogs time with Chloe and Andrea was nothing short of amazing. First and foremost these are two humans that really care about... read more the wellbeing and success of your dog/family and the relationship you share with them. We have an 18 month old baby who was just new to waking/running which was putting our dog on guard. Our dog was also baby of the household before our daughter came so she ran the house! She had resource guarding issues, basic behavior issues and even had a couple of nipping encounters with our daughter. Long story short after her hybrid board and train program we have a completely different dog and the stress levels in our home have significantly decreased.
